First of all, remember that beacons will never “send” you anything if you don’t have a dedicated application. Secondly, beacons are designed to make the world smarter. The way people use them is another issue.
If you feel spammed, uninstall your app or update your messaging preferences for it.
If you generally like the app but notifications bother you, turn the Bluetooth off.
Let’s make it clear. A beacon can’t track you because it’s unable to receive any information. It just broadcasts a signal. Your app receives that signal and gathers data, like any other app. It knows your location only if you’re in the reach of a beacon. So neither the app nor the beacon knows your way home.
